The Singaporean-based Kerry Hill Architects created an incredibly stylish and contemporary design. The architects made a modern interpretation of the traditional Malaysian ‘kampung’ villages, and both local art and nature are perfectly blended in every detail.


The hotel offers 45 spacious suites, all of which offering incredible privacy. All suites contain Malaysian-inspired design features, and generous room for peace and tranquillity, including private tropical verandas and pools.

One & Only Desaru has two larger suites – Grand Suites with its two bedrooms and Villa One, of which the latter is the most exclusive. The 1500 sqm Villa One Suite is the perfect choice for larger groups. This suite offers four bedrooms, a spa treatment room, work office and a lush garden surrounding a 27-meter swimming pool.


The culinary offerings – similar to other One & Only resorts – are incredibly varied. There is something for everyone, from the Mediterranean restaurant Ambara to the Ember Beach Club, a lively beach bar run by renowned chef Andrew Walsh. And Hoshi, where the head chef serves meals from an open bar.


Guests wishing to improve their well-being can visit the Chenot Spa. The spa takes a scientific and holistic approach to health and well-being, from tailored nutritional menus, spa treatments to yoga sessions.
