Radisson Red is the name of Carlson Rezidor’s newest hotel brand, targeting the lifestyle conscious travellers. It is now clear where the first two hotels are to be located – one in China and one in South Africa.
Radisson Red Shenyang Hunan in Shenyang, China, is expected to open in January 2016, followed by the first hotel in the EMEA region, the Radisson Red V & A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa, which opens at the end of 2016.
Wolfgang M. Neumann, CEO of Rezidor, describes Radisson Red as “trendy, close to the customer and with a contemporary design”, and says that the hotel chain will offer flexible and functional rooms, paperless check-in and a 24/7 deli & bar. The goal is to open more than 60 Radisson Red-hotels before 2020.
The hotel in Cape Town will offer 235 rooms, including Studios, Studio 4 and Studio Sweets. Food and beverages will be available from a “Redeli” and a “Ouibar” with hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer and cocktails available 24/7. The hotel will also offer five meeting rooms, totalling 460 square metres, and a “Red Face” fitness centre and rooftop pool.
The hotel will be close to shopping and entertainment area, V & A Waterfront, and within walking distance of the Cape Town Convention Centre.
