Air India has announced it will increase frequency on its Delhi – London Heathrow route from two daily flights to three, with just two weeks notice. 

From November 1 this year, the Indian Airline will add a third daily service between Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Heathrow. Flights AI161/162 will be operated by a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft and bookings are now available. The service will complement current B787-8 Dreamliner and B777-300ER services.

Flight AI161 will depart Delhi at 02.15 (compared to 06.50 and 14.45 for the current flights), arriving in London at 06.30. In the opposite direction, flight AI162 will depart Heathrow at 08.45 and arrive in Delhi at 22.35.

Air India is one of three airlines to serve the Delhi – London route, along with British Airways, Jet Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways.
