Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines, the official airline partners of The O2, will launch the NY-LON Lounge Bar at the O2 at the end of this month. The lounge is in honour of the airlines’ important New York – London route. The aviation-inspired lounge bar aims to combine both brands to deliver a unique experience to O2 visitors.
The two airlines are working with Manchester based design firm, LOVE, to create the 6000 square foot lounge. NY-LON has capacity for up to 400 guests and features a large bar and seating area, plus a “secret space” for meetings, private dining or small events.
NY-LON will be managed on behalf of the airlines by hospitality brand, Levy Restaurants UK, and the menu will offer both New York and London inspired dishes, as well as aviation themed cocktails. The lounge will be open seven days a week. Members of the airlines’ frequent flyer programmes, Flying Club and SkyMiles, will benefit from a range of discounts and special offers.
You’ll find NY-LON in the entertainment district of the O2, near Cineworld. The O2 is just one stop from Canary Wharf on the underground.
Reuben Arnold, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Customer Experience at Virgin Atlantic, said, “We’ve created NY-LON as a celebration of our trans-Atlantic network which provides customers with a seamless, more enjoyable way to fly between the U.K. and U.S. Our lounge bar will offer customers a brand-new experience at the O2 that showcases our airlines’ world-class service.”
Tim Mapes, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Marketing added: “The iconic cities of New York and London are at the heart of everything we do. Opening NY-LON is the next exciting step in our partnership and we look forward to helping travellers enjoy the Delta-Virgin Atlantic brand of hospitality for which we’re famous when they next visit The O2.”
Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines’ partnership was launched in January 2014 and currently operates ten flights a day between London Heathrow and New York – with eight to New York-JFK and two to Newark.
