The Mondrian Doha, opening this Autumn, is bringing the luxury hotel brand’s characteristic glamour to the West Bay Lagoon area of Doha, Qatar.
The hotel will feature 270 rooms and suites, eight custom bars and restaurants, an indoor/outdoor rooftop pool and sky bar, and the largest ESPA in the world.
The vision of famed Dutch designer Marcel Wanders will come to life following a soft-opening this spring, before it officially opens for business in late September 2017.
Guests can pick between five room categories, including huge penthouse suites, studio suites, one and two bedroom suites and a range of standard guestrooms – all of which are adorned Swarovski crystal chandeliers and bespoke furniture that mirrors the desert.
The striking centrepiece of the atrium is a custom-designed, four-level spiral staircase that leads guests up to a viewing platform. Additional facilities at the new hotel will include an entertainment floor with a nightclub, a grand ballroom, and one of the world’s most opulent bridal suites complete with a 24k gold caged elevator that takes the bride and groom directly to the ballroom.
Marcel Wanders commented: “Stories connect us to our history, our culture and to each other. Stepping into Mondrian Doha begins the first chapter of a wonderful story that unfolds around every turn. Conceptually, we have married local culture with a modern design aesthetic.
“While many themes are collectively layered throughout the hotel, each individual space tells its own tale. Guests may, therefore, have many different experiences and weave for themselves a collection of stories to share.”
Room rates at Mondrian Doha will start from $240 (£190).
