The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, a popular choice with business travellers, has unveiled a new, luxurious top-floor suite.
The first of two new suites to be added to the 5-star hotel, The Apartment Suite, designed by award-winning Hong Kong architect, Joyce Wang, is a “home-away-from-home” that’s ideal for longer stays.
With a luxury apartment feel, the 1,500 square foot suite showcases Wang’s trademark elegance and attention to detail, such as natural wood floors, Hand-painted silk wallpaper, specially commissioned artworks, and furnishings in gold, caramel and royal blue.
As you enter through the foyer, elegant glass sliding doors lead you to an unusually spacious open-plan living and dining area decorated in an earthy palette of caramel, burnished gold and royal blue, giving a real sense of luxury.
Within the dining area is a stylish, full-size cocktail bar and pantry, equipped with top-of-the-range drinks and gourmet treats, respectively. A six-seat dining crackled gesso-finish dining table sits below a striking brass chandelier, making the area ideal for hosting, while a state-of-the-art Gaggenau kitchen provides ample room and appliances for preparing food.
The suite’s roomy living area features a 3-metre wide, curved sofa with two matching armchairs, and an huge, richly-textured rug. A centrepiece of the study area is a large bespoke desk with trademark Wang translucent acrylic base.
The heart of the suite is the stunning bedroom, featuring a bed with a large leather headboard, separate walk-in dressing spaces, and a spa-inspired marble bathroom with a sumptuous seven-foot spherical spa tub and separate walk-in rainforest shower.
The suite can also be expanded into a two-bedroom residence with a combined total of 1,950-square feet. A second “Super-Entertainment Suite” is also on the way, and is expected to be ready for guests in mid-2017.
