Etihad First & Business Class Lounge, Abu Dhabi (AUH), Terminal 1
Etihad’s lounge in terminal 1 is located in the central building/check-in building right after passport and security control. It has a fairly discreet, dark brown entrance that is a bit hidden if you are in transit, but you can follow the signs or ask for help at the information desk. The entrance is followed by a staircase which leads to the lounge located two floors up.
Unlike Etihad’s lounges in terminal 3, the lounge in terminal 1 is a combined First & Business Lounge with a common lounge for all eligible guests.
The lounge is not very large and feels somewhat compact, like it has been squeezed into the only available space at the airport. The narrow stairway that leads from the transit hall up to the lounge reinforces this impression. The lounges in terminal 3 are significantly better in this respect.
The lounge has Etihad’s traditional lounge design and is very elegant with dark brown furniture and orange chairs. On top of that, there are many modern decorative ornaments such as vases and candleholders.
After you have passed the small lobby where the reception desk is, you enter the main lounge which houses the self-service buffet and bar. Along the curved walls of the room there are high bar stools. Behind the wall is a dining section with proper chairs and tables.
Further into the lounge there are seating areas with sofas and armchairs, as well as a small business centre.
Eating and Drinking
The self-service buffet offers hot food that varies depending on the time of day, as well a separate table with a salad buffet and cold meats.
Behind the buffet is a fridge with non-alcoholic drinks such as soft drinks and juices. There is also a tea and coffee machine.
If you desire an alcoholic beverage there is a staffed bar with a number of different wines, beers and a standard range of spirits. At the bar you can also order a freshly brewed coffee.
The lounge has free WiFi and a small business centre complete with computers and workstations for those who wish to work.
The lounge offers showers and toilets.
A small and compact lounge that feels quite dated compared to the newer lounges in terminal 3. The Etihad lounge design is elegant and there is a good range of food and drink. In addition, the staff in the longe are very pleasant and polite.
