British Airways have revised their London Heathrow – Vancouver route for the summer 2016 season, and from May 1, 2016 will deploy a daily Airbus A380 to the bustling west coast Canadian city.
This will mark the first scheduled Airbus A380 passenger service that Vancouver has seen.
The A380 will be deployed on seven out of the twelve weekly flights from Heathrow to Vancouver. It will replace the Boeing 747-400s that are currently in use. The world’s largest passenger aircraft will depart London daily at 17.15, landing in Vancouver at 18.40. The return will depart Canada at 20.50, landing at 14.00 the next day.
The Boeing 747-400s that currently serve the remaining five flights a week are also due to be replaced by Boeing 777-200ERs on May 15, 2016.
British Airways are competing with Air Canada (Heathrow) and Air Transat (Gatwick) on the London – Vancouver route.
