Star Alliance member United Airlines has revealed two new United Club lounges – in Atlanta and San Francisco.
The lounges feature United’s new lounge design and offer “modern designs with stunning panoramic views of the airfield, comfortable seating to work or relax, fresh and healthy food choices, complimentary beverages and plentiful power outlets throughout.”
Atlanta United Club opened yesterday between gates 11 and 12 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport’s Concourse T, on the mezzanine level. The 5,000-square-foot lounge offers panoramic views of the airport and seating for more than 100 people. Food options include yogurt, fresh fruit and a rotation of different flavoured muffins.
San Francisco United Club opens tomorrow in the newly renovated Terminal 3 East Concourse, also scheduled to open tomorrow. At just over 6,000-square-foot, the lounge offers a bird’s-eye view of airport operations and can accommodate more than 130 guests. A complimentary menu with seasonal choices will be available.
Complimentary beverages, Wi-Fi, and premium wines and spirits will be on offer at both new lounges.
“Our customers deserve the very best travel experience, and our new clubs are not only beautiful spaces, they are also very functional and will provide the perfect settings for customers to relax, refresh and recharge before their flights,” said Jimmy Samartzis, United’s vice president of food services and United Clubs.
The lounges are part of a $100 million investment to ‘transform lounge experience’ and follow lounge updates in in Chicago, San Diego, Seattle, Boston and London. Over the next three years, United plans to renovate and update United Club locations throughout its network. Starting in 2016, the airline will begin extensive renovations at locations including New York/Newark, Chicago O’Hare, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Dallas-Fort Worth and Guam.
